Description: <DIV STYLE="text-align:Left;"><DIV><DIV><P><SPAN>This feature class represents general building bounds of current standing structures. Buildings are defined as places that people gather for work or places where people live. This layer gives the user a broader idea of where a building might be with respect to other buildings. Details for each polygon feature can be found in the attribute table of this layer.</SPAN></P><P><SPAN>OSU-owned buildings are represented in this layer during their construction. Demolished buildings (deleted features) are removed and placed in an archive/demo layer for historic record. </SPAN></P><P><SPAN>This layer contributes to the OSU basemap topology. This is a highly prioritized dataset. Accuracy varies across the dataset. </SPAN></P><P><SPAN STYLE="font-weight:bold;">Important Attribute Fields</SPAN></P><UL><LI><P><SPAN>Building Number: The unique building ID number assigned by OSU.</SPAN></P></LI><LI><P><SPAN>Building Name: The full name for a building or the building address if not named by other means.</SPAN></P></LI><LI><P><SPAN>Link: A static URL link to the building's image page on the OSU website.</SPAN></P></LI><LI><P><SPAN>Name (#): The building name concatenated with the building number.</SPAN></P></LI><LI><P><SPAN>Address: The street address of the building. This data is copied from the Address Point layer.</SPAN></P></LI><LI><P><SPAN>City: The city the building is located in. This data is copied from the Address Point layer.</SPAN></P></LI><LI><P><SPAN>State: The state the building is located in. This data is copied from the Address Point layer.</SPAN></P></LI><LI><P><SPAN>Zip: The 5- or 9-digit zip code the building is located in. This data is copied from the Address Point layer.</SPAN></P></LI><LI><P><SPAN>County: The county the building is located in. This data is copied from the Address Point layer.</SPAN></P></LI><LI><P><SPAN>Gross Area: The entire area of the building's interior (all floors). This data is pulled from the Space Information and Management System (SIMS).</SPAN></P></LI><LI><P><SPAN>Campus: The campus the building is located on. This field is domain restricted.</SPAN></P></LI><LI><P><SPAN>Owner: The ownership of the building. This field is domain restricted.</SPAN></P></LI><LI><P><SPAN>Region: The subsection of the campus that the building is located in. This field is not domain restricted.</SPAN></P></LI><LI><P><SPAN>Zone: The subsection of the region that the building is located in. This field is not domain restricted.</SPAN></P></LI><LI><P><SPAN>Status: The current construction/demolition progress status. This field is domain restricted.</SPAN></P></LI><LI><P><SPAN>Maintenance: The department responsible for maintenance of the building. This field is domain restricted.</SPAN></P></LI><LI><P><SPAN>Institution Type: The primary usage of the building. This field is domain restricted.</SPAN></P></LI><LI><P><SPAN>Framework District: The name of the framework district of the building. This field is domain restricted.</SPAN></P></LI><LI><P><SPAN>LEEDCert: The sustainability certification and details of the building. Currently unused; for future development.</SPAN></P></LI><LI><P><SPAN>Campus Map: The name to be displayed for the building on the campus map. This may not be the full/actual name of the building. Common names or abbreviations may be used. This field is used for labeling the building differently than the full name. This field is not domain restricted.</SPAN></P></LI></UL></DIV></DIV></DIV>
